switch to ftp 

hello, i recently inherieted webmaster duties for a site that was previously managed using frontpage. i don't use or know anything about frontpage and want to use ftp to manage the site. from what i've read it can corrupt the site to use ftp. what is the safest way to switch to ftp on a site that was previously managed using frontpage?

You can use FTP as long as the site does not have any functions dependent on FrontPage server extensions. Using FTP will often corrupt these extensions making bits like database results pages created by the DRW (database results wizard) no longer function. Other bits might include forms and email auto responses.
