Jimmy Crabb -> Goodbye FrontPage (9/17/2008 9:07:39 AM)

I have been a loyal user of FrontPage since FP'98 and have steadily defended it against all critics over the years, but the time has finally come to move on..

I have gotten myself a copy of Adobe CS3 and so will switch more and more to Dreamweaver as I get aclimatized to the new software. I would have prefered to stay with Expressions but the early Beta I downloaded didn't impress me, so I'm jumping ship from MicroSoft alltogether now (sorry Bill...)

I'll still be using FP2003 quite a bit because of all the plugins and other specific tools I have that won't work with anything else, but Dreamweaver is going to be my design tool from now on, along with the other components of CS3 - can anybody tell me how CS3 Master Edition compares to a stable release of Expression Suite?

I can't help but wonder if MS is getting in trouble..Google Chrome, Star Open Office, Linux, MySql etc must be cutting deeply into thier profit margins - with the "failure" of Vista to capture significant market share, it's only a matter of time before somebody comes up with a viable alternative to Windows.

Thoughts anybody???

CS4 will be released at the end of September--wait for it. I've been running the BETA of Fireworks and DreamWeaver for about 4 months and love it...it's better than CS3 by a good bit. DreamWeaver is a magnificent tool. One can use it as a simple editor on a beginner's level without much sweat or dive into the application to do some really amazing things with live data.
