It seems like everyone has a toolbar for IE these days. Here's my attempt at one. I'd love to hear what you think about it. There is lots of room for improvement so your suggestions (unless totally lame [:D]) will probably make it into the final version.

http://www.frontpageworld.com/toolbar/

The Top 3 Issues (the rest you gotta look at the page to see)

1. Quick search of Google - just like the Google toolbar.
2. Quick links to FrontPage sites - not just like the Google toolbar.
3. Pop-up killer, page translater and cache/history/cookie killer.

10 great features - take a look.

I'm curious what you think and would love to see discussions here. Honestly, suggestions (if possible) will be implemented.

Paul

Love the concept - Love the ref page! Love the "Click through to your favorite FrontPage Reference Web Sites." and "Click through to your favorite Internet Reference Web Sites."

LOL - I think you have a better mousetrap :)

Will report back after using a few days :)

Actually, it is going to get a LOT better. I figured out how to tweak it so you can search Google, FrontPage in Google Groups, or, my favorite FrontPageTalk.com.

How cool is that? Upgrade coming soon ...

I DID IT!

Now you can search

1. Google
2. FrontPage in Usenet
3. FrontPage Talk
4. Microsoft.com

ALL FROM THE SEARCH BAR. Just enter the text and select the place you want to search from the drop down menu. To search Google (default), just hit the Enter key.

Also got rid of the graphics. Now it is a smaller bar with twice the power.

Anyone else?

What product was used to develop your own custom IE toolbar?

I can't give away all my secrets can I?

Building a toolbar isn't a secret. There's like 12 million companies offering those.

I just want to know which one I can trust. Your tool bar is functional, simple and works.

I'd like to do the same concept for my bodybuilding forum.

Now if you did it from scratch.. your own code.. fine.. I understand the "secret" to your source code.

But if you bought it from Joe's IE Toolbar shack.. kick down.

paulc -> RE: The FrontPage World IE Toolbar (10/22/2003 9:36:33 AM)

Fine, take all the fun and mystery out of it - why don't you?

I used Toolbar Generator and did the gold upgrade - very worth it.

I met the developer at a conference, he knows exactly what he's doing - unlike a bunch of the other hack job toolbar products we've both seen out there.

Customer support is really fast too.

Now that is why I've always come back to this site

1) Good information
2) Knowledgeable people
3) Straight scoop

Thanks Paul.

I trust the people here and didn't want to go hunt for a toolbar option when you clearly are the expert on this subject.

Thanks again for the help. [:D]

How about a review at Alexa that says just that ? [8D]

Paul

Defcon5 -> RE: The FrontPage World IE Toolbar (10/22/2003 10:07:30 AM)

Fine.

Consider it done. [:D]

okinawascubadiver -> RE: The FrontPage World IE Toolbar (11/20/2003 5:03:02 PM)

I want to try this software, but really dont want to pay that much for a test, is there a trial?

paulc -> RE: The FrontPage World IE Toolbar (11/21/2003 8:52:25 AM)

The toolbar is free. If you want to try that, download and enjoy.

If you are talking about the product that makes the toolbars, check to see if they have a guarantee. Most of these programs do.

I know both of the names behind that product personally so I know they'll be good to whatever they say.

I can't get it to work. I've downloaded and installed it. Then I went into IE. It wasn't there, so I went to View/Toolbars, but couldn't find it there either.

FYI, I have w2k pro, and IE6.

Andrew

Odd,

Does it show up in your remove programs option of WinXP?

Paul

bugmonkey -> RE: The FrontPage World IE Toolbar (4/16/2004 4:08:15 PM)

Starting using the FP Toolbar this morning.
Installation was quick, simple and idiot-proof (a must for me!)
Works like a champ with no gliches!

Andrew J Fortune -> RE: The FrontPage World IE Toolbar (4/18/2004 9:58:15 PM)

Paul,

Yes it appears in the Add/Remove Programs list as "Toolbar Software". I have un-installed and re-installed and still no go.

FYI, I am using W2K Pro (not XP).

thanks,
Andrew

paulc -> RE: The FrontPage World IE Toolbar (4/19/2004 8:47:11 AM)

Odd,

Well I'll forward to the developer and see if he has any ideas.

Looks good! [8D]

bconley -> RE: The FrontPage World IE Toolbar (6/29/2004 8:53:19 AM)

Great toolbar. The only other thing I would include is a Pop-Up blocker like Google has on it's toolbar. It is a great feature.
