asp issue/problem

When using databases with front page 2000 and probably later versions as well the pages have an .asp extension. When I try to access my pages on the internet I get a File Download - Security Warning and am asked if I want to "Open" "Save" or "Cancel". If I try to open the file, the page opens in my editing program. All I want do do is display database results generated by the database results wizard but I can't get it to work. Any suggestions!!!

I am far from an expert but this looks like a good place to find help. I read ono of the other issues about ftp being the cause of a problem. Could this be what is wrong because I do use ftp to save time? Thanks in advance.

Howdy from Dallas, I hope it's cooler in Laredo than up here.
Are you on a Microsoft server? ASP needs to be parsed--automatically on a microsoft server but necessary to have a 3rd part parser like Chilisoft if on a linux server

Actually Ajijic is about 30 miles south of Guadlajara and the weather is just about perfect. I am assuming that it is a Microsoft server. The hosting is by Yahoo (calling them is a real treat - 90 minute average wait) so maybe you know. I have been retired for a couple of years and am doing this for a friend so I don't have all the specifics. The last time I did this was probably 5 years ago for a company I used to own. Back then, everything worked using ftp. I went back and used front page's publisher to see if that was the problem but nothing changed.

Hola!
I checked with netcraft to see what type of server you have but they were unable to give me a report--ditto from network solutions.

Yahoo does not support ASP pages (in reply to Paco in Ajijic

After all was said and done, my client moved his site to Go Daddy because they support asp. It is amazing how well everything works now.
