User registration - please help

User registration - please help

Hiya
Can someone help me with "User Registration"
I have a very basic website at the moment and am still learning.
How do I setup User registration? do I need database access? Are there packages out there? are there free one? Are they secure?

You would need to know what your server supports (ASP, .NET, PHP) for the server side language and then the database (MS Access, mysql, MSSQL). Once that is determined, membership login will offer a few scripts to use.

You might even check on your control panel to see if something is offered there - some hosting companies have this already supported in their control panel.
