Lightbox 2 is pretty straight forward. What seems to be the trouble?

im jist not sure where to begin, do you know if theres anything on the web that will give me more details how to set it up ..the instructions on the lightbox site are quite breife.

it gives you 3 lines of code and says to put them in the header .is that the page header?

also what do you do with the files you download from the lightbox site,

Andy

RE: Picture gallery with lightbox (in reply to Andrew McGinn

it means between the <head> tags
like

<html>
<head>

<script type="text/javascript" src="js/prototype.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/scriptaculous.js?load=effects,builder"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/lightbox.js"></script>

</head>

put the js files in a folder in your site called"js" in the root something like this

/index.html
---/images
---/js

etc

are you using a stylesheet with your site? if not then link it as shown
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/lightbox.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />
(check the path is right for the setup of your site

what do you have so far?

RE: Picture gallery with lightbox (in reply to Andrew McGinn

i finaly got round to trying this. iv added the 3 lines of code to the head, dose it matter if this code is put at the start or end of the code?

iv put the downloaded files for lightbox in a folder named js in the root directory of the site along with the lightbox.css in a folder named css also in the root directory

iv tryed to use this code to make lightbox run from clicking on a picture thumbnail.

<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/lightbox.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />
<a href="image1.jpg" rel="lightbox"> <img src="image1.jpg"width="99" height="150" />

I will upload the page im working on to http://members.aol.com/andy5090/gallery.htm
the directory listing can be view'd at http://members.aol.com/andy5090/

if anyone would care to have a look

Thanks
Andy

You need to upload the images that came with Lightbox to the correct folder.
