Now That FrontPage Is "Done&quo...

Now that FrontPage has come to her unfortunate end, what's next for you in Web Design?

Well I wouldn't agree FrontPage has come to an end just yet, there may not be any more versions being brought out, but support will continue for quite some time yet. Having said that, I have already upgraded and to Expression Web which is brilliant. I run it alongside FP so I can use both still. Dreamweaver I find far too expensive for any advantage over FP or Expression plus I dont like some of the unnecesary extra code it gives for things like simple mouseover scripts. XsitePro - there are a ton of affiliate websites all over the place using the hard sell techniques and I have yet to see a site made with it where even the doctype is done correctly. As for blogs, they are fine for what they are .. blogs, not for building websites.

Just my 2cents

I agree with Malcolm - I have kept FP2003 along with a new version of Expression Web. I will use Expression Web for new websites where possible BUT it does have a learning curve in order to use database.

FP's ease of use handling of Access DBs is a plus for me as I have quite a few sites using it. Hopefully I will learn to use ASP.Net for DBs in the future but finding the time is the problem!

I have FP 2003 installed on my computer in the basement and have to rely on it from time to time when answering questions but other than that, I have not used / relied on Frontpage since about October 2006
