Form confirmation help

The form is a registration for several workshops (morning, afternoon, all-day). The person can register for as many workshops as they can schedule into their day. When they receive the confirmation, it's separated into the 3 time slots, but if they select 2 morning workshops, their confirmation comes back with the two running together and it's hard to read. How can I fix it so that each workshop selected appears on it's own line? The original form was designed using FP2003, but I edit in EW. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Assuming you are using the FrontPage webbots to send the form to email you cannot format the results. Suggestion is to use CDONTS or CDOSYS to send formatted emails (depending on type of Microsoft server you are hosted on).

I'm not sure what you mean - not use a confirmation page and instead an email? I've not heard of CDONTS or CDOSYS in sending email. Sorry, I'm not up to speed on this.

You cannot format the emails using the frontpage webbots.
My suggestion is NOT to use the frontpage webbots.
This means you actually have to cut and paste code into the code view of the page. It's really quite easy but may not be worth the bother to you.

RE: Form confirmation help (in reply to ilmimi

It is the confirmation page I'm speaking about from the form properties menu. I have a webpage saved as wsconfirmation.htm which dispays the results of the form once the participant has clicked the submit button. It is separated into 3 sessions so depending on how many workshops they select, those workshops will appear in the corresponding section. If they select more than 1 workshop in the morning session, those workshops run together (on the confirmation url) and that is where I'd like to separate them. It could be it needs to be done within the actual form properties. Perhaps if I explain how that is set up, it might help.
For example, on morning sessions, there is a list of several workshops available with a check box next to each. The check box properties, the name is morning_workshops (the webbot name) and the value is the name of the workshop. So on the confirmation page, the webbots are listed: morning_workshops, afternoon_workshops, and all_day_workshops. Any selections would fall into one of those categories - the only problem as I stated earlier, they all run together if more than 1 is selected (no line break).
So perhaps the problem is the way they are set up to begin with. Should there be a different way of collecting the information and displaying it properly on the confirmation url? I really appreciate your help.

Sorry, I misunderstood your question entirely!
A custom confirmation page is fairly simple.
First, create a new page from your web template.
Now, you know your field names, so with FP 2002-2003 choose 'Web Component | Advanced Controls | Confirmation Field'. Hit 'OK' and the component appears on your page.
Use the 'save as' command to name and save your new page and then close it. Now you're ready to tell the original form to display your new confirmation form with the selected results when a user submits.

Right click on your original form, select 'Form Properties | Options | Confirmation Page' and hit the 'browse' button and navigate to your new custom confirmation page and select it. Hit 'OK' exiting the boxes. Use the 'save as' command to save your changes and then publish them to your site.

Now you can test the form to make sure it's working right and looks exactly the way you want it to. You can now customize all your confirmation forms to match your site for each form you create with FrontPage and never use the default confirmations again.

We're getting closer. I already have the confirmation page saved with the webbots on it. The problem is this: (copied from the actual confirmation page) - the two workshops selected run together - they are actually separated by a comma. Is there a way to have them appear on separate lines? The participant can select several workshops.
You have registered for the following workshop(s):

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Morning Workshops at Vandalia-Butler High School
Dealing with People You Can't Stand: How to Bring Out the Best in People at Their Worst - TIME: 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m, You Are the Curator: Using Primary Sources in the Classroom - TIME: 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks again!

How is your form designed?
If the selections are two different form fields then simply put a line break between the two components on your confirmation page.
