Form Submission - Set Expiration Date

Is it possible on a form submission to set an expiration date for the posted contents of the submitted form?
I want to put some event notices up using a form but when the event date has passed have the post automatically deleted.

any thoughts?
Thanks

Are you posting to a database?
If so, then a sql query that displays data based on the date is fairly easy.

Or a simple ASP bit like this (a toggle value of 1 is show and 2 is hide):
If date() > 8/7/2008 then toggle=2 else toggle=1

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm posting the results back to a webpage.
