I have for some time been setting up info websites with some success but now I would like to get a little bit more fancy. I have a new project on the go in which I will require users to register and signin to use my site. I will also need to be able to track a users progress on my website (its kind of game based) I was thinking this would probably be via flags or other fields maybe stored in a database. I know what I want to do I just dont have the technical know how and I aint got a scooby if I can do this kinda thing with frontpage. Get over the fact that Front Page "writes" code for you 'cause is doesn't and won't. It's just a fancy text editor like notepad (in fact, notepad works just as well). So, a login script is first. You may be able to find a pre-coded script out there (Spooky login was the best but I believe has been discontinued). This is more complicated than you might first believe if you want users to be able to create their own usernames/passwords and retrieve them when they are forgotten and to also be able to restrict users to a set of pages or folders. Better to purchase this bit rather than try to code it up yourself. We sell a nice script for $35 unsupported and uninstalled. I'm not sure what you want for your second bit.
